Disney Sing It: High School Musical 3: Senior Year! Is the new karaoke video game that allows fans to perform to 20 songs from High School Musical, High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year!
“Disney Sing It” and “Disney Sing It: High School Musical 3: Senior Year” are a pair of karaoke games for all the major consoles and PC. The major challenge of this project was the sheer number of SKUs to be shipped: two products in around four regions and on five platforms!
In addition to this, there was a vast amount of data to be processed. Our source video format was in uncompressed high definition, and had to be converted to different formats as appropriate for each platform — a range which crossed two console generations and included both SD and HD output! Because of this, we had to put in place quite a comprehensive and powerful asset pipeline.
My input into the project mainly consisted of game code (rendering of the in-game HUD elements; scoring; logic) and work on the asset pipeline.
