A LIFE OF CRIME IS TOUGH ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BARS.
The sentence has been passed, now you must bring order in a world of chaos. Start with a small, low security prison and build it into a maximum-security super-max. There’s no escaping under your watchful eye because you’re in charge of every detail.
Are you tough enough to run the BIG HOUSE?
“Prison Tycoon 2″ was a return to the Tycoon genre for Virtual Playground, and a sequel to one of their earlier titles. As a result, we had a lot of technology in place and could afford a shorter development cycle than “Fetch!” had. This led to a considerably different experience – much quicker turnaround, much less technology coding, much more focus on specific gameplay features.
While working on this and heading into the next title, BierTycoon, some major refactoring took place. I was involved with some of the preliminary design work for the new game-state driven system, and worked on implementing these changes parallel to development of the game – without breaking the current codebase for those working on live game code at the time!
